Can I shop at international stores with the Virtual Card?

Yes. The El Dorado Virtual Card is a Visa denominated in USD, so you can use it at any online store that accepts Visa as a payment method.

There are no country restrictions and you don't need to enable the card for international purchases.

What stores can I shop at?

Among many others:

  • Marketplaces: Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, Etsy, Walmart

  • Fashion: Shein, ASOS, Zara, Nike, Adidas

  • Technology: Apple Store, Best Buy, Newegg

  • Health and beauty: iHerb, Sephora

  • Digital services: Uber, Airbnb, Booking

If the store accepts Visa, it accepts your card.

How do I make a purchase?

  1. Top up your Virtual Card from the El Dorado app

  2. Go to the online store where you want to shop

  3. At checkout, select "Credit/debit card" or "Visa"

  4. Enter your Virtual Card details (number, expiration date, CVV)

  5. Confirm the purchase

It works exactly like any other Visa card.

How is it different from paying with a local card?

With a local card:

  • Some international stores decline cards from certain countries

  • The bank charges international purchase fees (usually between 3% and 8%)

  • Currency conversion is done at the bank's exchange rate, which is usually unfavorable

With the El Dorado Virtual Card:

  • Being issued in the United States, it has global acceptance

  • Payments in USD are processed without currency conversion

  • No additional international transaction fees in USD

  • You pay the exact price you see on screen

Is there a spending limit?

The daily limit is 2,000 USD total across all transactions. There is no monthly limit.

📌 Tip: Before making a large purchase, top up your card with the amount needed. Top-ups are instant from the El Dorado app.
