How is it different from paying with a local card?
With a local card:
Some international stores decline cards from certain countries
The bank charges international purchase fees (usually between 3% and 8%)
Currency conversion is done at the bank's exchange rate, which is usually unfavorable
With the El Dorado Virtual Card:
Being issued in the United States, it has global acceptance
Payments in USD are processed without currency conversion
No additional international transaction fees in USD
You pay the exact price you see on screen
Is there a spending limit?
The daily limit is 2,000 USD total across all transactions. There is no monthly limit.
📌 Tip: Before making a large purchase, top up your card with the amount needed. Top-ups are instant from the El Dorado app.
