What's happening with my card?
We're changing the provider that issues El Dorado Virtual Cards. Because of that, on [DATE] all cards are being updated and you'll get a new card.
You don't need to request it, pay the issuance fee again, or complete any paperwork. The new card appears on its own in the Card Mini App.
What changes and what doesn't?
Changes: the card number, the CVV and the expiration date.
Doesn't change: your balance. It stays exactly where it is, in the same account. You don't need to move it or verify your identity again.
Your current card stops working on [DATE]. Any payment attempted with the old details will be declined.
What do I need to do?
Just two things, and you can do them starting [DATE], once you can see the new details:
Update your card details on any service where you have recurring charges.
Add the new card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and remove the old one so you don't end up with both.
Where do I find my new card details?
Open the El Dorado app.
Go to the Card Mini App.
Select "View details".
There you'll find the number, expiration date and CVV of your new card.
Which services do I need to update?
Any service that has your card saved to charge you on a recurring basis. The most common ones:
Streaming: Netflix, Spotify, Disney+, HBO Max, YouTube Premium, Apple Music, Prime Video
Tools and software: Adobe, Canva, Figma, Notion, ChatGPT, Google One, Microsoft 365, iCloud
Advertising: Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Ads
Shopping and delivery: Amazon, Mercado Libre, Uber, Rappi, PedidosYa, Shein, Temu
Travel: Booking, Airbnb, Expedia, airlines
Other: Steam, PlayStation Store, Patreon, Substack, gyms, insurance
đ If you have active ad campaigns, start there. A declined charge on Meta Ads or Google Ads can pause your campaigns or affect your ad account.
What happens if I don't update a service?
That charge will fail when the service tries to use the old details. You don't lose any money: the payment simply doesn't go through.
To fix it, enter your new card details on that service and billing resumes normally.
